Turn Overwhelm Into a Clear CIRS Plan

You’ve read the articles. You’ve joined the groups. Maybe you’ve even bounced between doctors who don’t really “get” CIRS.

And you’re still wondering:

  • What do I focus on first?

  • Is my brain ever going to feel clear again?

  • Am I missing something important in my labs or environment?

This 1:1 Initial Intake Appointment is where we stop guessing and start mapping out your personal CIRS recovery plan – with someone who lives this, studies this, and teaches this every day.

This appointment is exclusively for students already enrolled in either:
âś… CIRS Recovery Resources (for those without a doctor)
âś… CIRS Advocate Training (for those who have a doctor or want to be ready to work with one and advocate for themselves using the Shoemaker Protocol)

Why is this only for people who purchased those courses?

Why You Need the Course Plus the Intake (And Why I Built It This Way)

When I first started my own CIRS journey, I was drowning in information and totally alone.
I didn’t have a clear roadmap. I didn’t know how to talk to my doctors. And I definitely didn’t have anyone who could connect brain health, CIRS physiology, and functional psychology in one place.

So I built the programs I wish I’d had:

  • CIRS Recovery Resources gives you the foundational education you need when you don’t have a Shoemaker doctor yet.

  • CIRS Advocate Training teaches you how to advocate for yourself, understand the Shoemaker Protocol, and communicate confidently with your providers (with tools for them, too).

Those courses cover the core teaching so that our one-on-one time can stay focused, affordable, and targeted.

Instead of paying for long, repetitive appointments just to hear what a course could have taught you, you get:

  • A 60-minute deep dive Initial Intake, and

  • Future 30-minute, laser-focused follow-up sessions (optional) that go straight to your current needs – not basic explanations.

I created this structure to protect your energy, your time, and your budget, while still giving you high-level, personalized support.

Who This Initial Intake Is For

This session is perfect for you if:

  • You feel overwhelmed by symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, pain, mood changes, or cognitive issues

  • You suspect or know you have CIRS and want a clear, realistic plan

  • You’re already inside:

    • CIRS Recovery Resources (you don’t have a doctor or access to a Shoemaker provider), or

    • CIRS Advocate Training (you do or don’t have a doctor, but want to learn the Shoemaker framework and stand up for your own care)

  • You want someone at the intersection of Brain Health, CIRS, and Functional Psychology to help you make sense of your story

  • You’re tired of feeling lost and want step-by-step next actions, not vague encouragement

If that’s you, this Initial Intake is your bridge between education and personal strategy.

What’s Included in Your 60-Minute Initial Intake

This isn’t a casual “chat.” It’s a structured, data-informed CIRS consult focused on your brain, labs, symptoms, and daily life.

1. Cognitive & Brain Health Screening

We’ll assess how CIRS is impacting how you think, feel, and function day to day:

  • MoCA Testing (Montreal Cognitive Assessment)
Screens memory, attention, language, and executive function to highlight areas of cognitive strain.

  • VCS Test (Visual Contrast Sensitivity)
A key CIRS-related screening that looks for visual/neurological changes often seen in biotoxin illness.

  • Brain Health Assessment
A guided review of your brain-based symptoms – focus, mood, sleep, irritability, brain fog – so we can see where support is most needed.

  • BRIGHT MINDS Risk Assessment
A comprehensive brain health framework (from Amen Clinics) used to identify inflammation, toxins, sleep issues, blood flow problems, and other risk factors that matter in CIRS recovery.

2. Lab & History Review

We’ll walk through your available labs and key health history through a CIRS + brain health + functional psychology lens:

  • Making sense of what your labs might be suggesting

  • Connecting symptoms, environment, and data into a understandable story

  • Identifying gaps, follow-up questions, and what to track going forward

đź’ˇ Important: This appointment is for education and coaching. It does not replace medical care and is not a medical diagnosis or prescription visit.

3. Personalized Lifestyle Plan & Coaching

Together, we’ll co-create a realistic plan that respects your energy and brain capacity, while still moving your recovery forward.

Your Lifestyle Plan may include coaching around:

  • Nutrition tailored for inflammation, brain health, and CIRS

  • Movement & Exercise that support your nervous system without crashing you

  • Supplements (Educational Review) you can discuss with your doctor

  • Mental Wellness & Nervous System Regulation tools grounded in functional and compliance psychology, so it’s not just a plan on paper – it’s a plan you can actually follow

You’ll leave with a clear written Lifestyle Plan that breaks big goals into manageable steps.

4. Shoemaker Protocol Discussion + Doctor Information Packet

If you’re in CIRS Advocate Training, or you’re moving toward Shoemaker-style care, we will:

  • Walk through the high-level roadmap of the Shoemaker Protocol in plain language

  • Help you understand where you might fit on that roadmap

  • Prepare you to have better, more focused conversations with your doctor

You’ll also receive an information packet for your doctor to help:

  • Introduce CIRS and the Shoemaker framework

  • Explain why certain labs and steps matter

  • Make it easier for your provider to understand where you’re coming from

Whether you currently have a doctor or not, this gives you an advocacy tool instead of going into appointments feeling small, confused, or dismissed.

Why You Must Be Enrolled in CIRS Recovery Resources or CIRS Advocate Training First

This requirement isn’t a gatekeeping thing.
It’s a protection thing – for you.

By completing the educational program first:

  • You already know the foundations, so we don’t have to spend your session on basic teaching

  • Our time together can be highly targeted and efficient

  • Your cost stays lower because you’re not paying for me to repeat what’s inside the courses

  • Follow-up sessions can be shorter (30 minutes) and very focused on your current block, labs, or next step

Think of it like this:

  • The courses give you the language, concepts, and map.

  • The Initial Intake and follow-ups help you place your dot on that map and decide where to go next.
